Birds
of the Desert Southwest
I used to spend my winter vacations in a remote location known as Why, Arizona.
There were many interesting desert species, including:
Gila woodpecker
Gambel's quail
Phainopepla
Pyrrhuloxia
Loggerhead shrike
Anna's hummingbird
Curve-billed thrasher
Raven
Roadrunner
Cactus wren
Cardinal
